On Saturday night in the Premier League, we see Tottenham take on Manchester United in their first home game of the campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Previous Results Of The Two Sides
After goals from Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal, Tottenham managed to kick their campaign off with a 2-2 draw against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking to add strength and depth to their squad in the remainder of the transfer window having recently sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for a reported fee of £100M.
The Red Devils began their Premier League campaign with an unconvincing 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford. However, Ten Hag’s side will have to put in a much-improved display in North London if they want to start the season with back-to-back wins.
Team News
Cristian Romero is currently a doubt for the game on Saturday after picking up a head injury against Brentford. Rodrigo Bentancur has spent over six months on the sidelines after picking up a cruciate ligament injury he sustained back in February. It will likely be another 1-2 months till we see the midfielder play for Tottenham Hotspur again. Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil are both ruled out till October.
Manchester United’s new signing Rasmus Hojlund is currently struggling with a back injury that he picked up in pre-season with Atalanta. The Danish striker is likely to miss the first few games of the season. Tyrell Malacia picked up a knee injury in Manchester United’s USA pre-season tour. It is unknown how long the Dutchman will be on the sidelines. Kobbie Mainoo will miss the first few games of the season due to an ankle injury he picked up against Real Madrid in pre-season. Amad Diallo also picked up an injury in pre-season that is keeping him out also.
