This Thursday night in the Europa League, we have the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final, where we see Sevilla take on Manchester United at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
First Leg At Old Trafford
Last Thursday in the Europa League, we saw Manchester United slip a two-goal lead against Sevilla.
Manchester United took the lead just fourteen minutes into the game, thanks to a tidy finish from Marcel Sabitzer. Just seven minutes after Marcel Sabitzer scored, he scored another to put his team 2-0 up, with just twenty-one minutes played.
Sevilla had a handful of chances in the 1st half but couldn’t turn any into goals. Manchester United went into halftime 2-0 up. At the start of the second half, Harry Maguire had to replace Raphael Varane after he had picked up an injury in the first half.
In the 61st minute, Antony got denied by the woodwork to stop Manchester United from taking a three-goal lead.
Tyrell Malacia was very unfortunate in the 84th minute and scored an own goal to get Sevilla back into the game. In the 85th minute, Lisandro Martinez had to be carried off the field due to injury. Manchester United had to play the remaining ten minutes with ten men because they had used all their substitutes.
In the 93rd minute, Manchester United’s Harry Maguire headed the ball into his own net to make it 2-2. Sevilla are now back in the tie, thanks to two own goals from Manchester United players.
Lisandro Martinez, Marcus Rashford and Raphael Varane are all doubts for the second leg this Thursday.
Manchester United’s Last League Match
In the previous Premier League match, Manchester United faced 18th-placed Nottingham Forest, where they were victorious after beating them 2-0 at the City Ground. Antony got his fourth Premier League goal of the season to make it 1-0 to United.
Diogo Dalot scored his first goal in a Manchester United shirt to make it 2-0 and took the three points back to Manchester.

Sevilla’s Last League Match
In Sevilla’s previous La Liga match, they faced 18th-placed Valencia and came out victorious after a 2-0 win to take them to 13th place. The French defender Loic Bade made it 1-0 to Sevilla. Suso also scored to make it 2-0. They went on to see the game out and get the three points.
Key player
Manchester City’s Jack Grealish has really picked up form since the 2022 World Cup. This season Grealish has eleven goal contributions, scoring five and assisting six.
The Englishman will be looking to add more goals to his game and will be looking to help his team get over the line at the Allianz Arena.
In Grealish’s first season at City, it took him time to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s play style. This season we have seen a drastic change in his performances.
Newcastle's form under Eddie Howe
Since Eddie Howe arrived at the club in November 2021, Premier League fans have seen a drastic change in how Newcastle play. Eddie Howe took over when Newcastle were rock bottom of the Premier League, and he guided them to safety, finishing 11th in the league, 14 points above the relegation zone. Newcastle this season have impressed many people as no one would have expected them to be sitting in third and pushing for the Champions League places. Newcastle have won their last five Premier League games.
