🕗 Sunday 9th April, 16:30 GMT
We have an intriguing matchup on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League. Liverpool will look to get back to winning ways at Anfield after being without a win in their three previous Premier League games. Arsenal will be looking to get another vital three points to push them closer to the Premier League title.
The race for Europe
Liverpool have now dropped out of the top six in the Premier League and will need to get back to winning ways on Sunday to give them a chance of Champions League football next season, following their exit from this season’s competition at the hands of the 2022 winner Real Madrid in what was a replay of last year’s Champions League final.
Title race
Arsenal will be looking to make it eight Premier League wins in a row on Sunday afternoon. The league title is now very much in Arsenal’s hands, despite being put constantly under pressure from fellow title contenders and current Premier League holders Manchester City. Arsenal are now 8 points clear of second placed City but have played an extra game.

Head to head
The last three Premier League games between the two sides ended in Liverpool winning two games and Arsenal winning one in October 2022. Looking at Arsenal’s form this season, having already previously beaten Liverpool this season, everything points to another Gunners victory as Liverpool are evidently struggling to find any kind of consistent form.
Key players missing
Arsenal are missing their star center-back this season, William Saliba, a doubt for this upcoming match with a back injury that has now seen him miss three weeks of Premier League games.
Liverpool are missing Thiago Alcantra due to a groin injury that has ruled him out since the start of February.
Crucial players
Liverpool have a world-class player in Mo Salah. He has the pace and dribbling abilities to dance through any defence in the league. So, Arsenal will need to be wary when defending and stay tight to him to increase their chances of winning this match.
In Liverpool’s previous game, Jurgen Klopp dropped Mo Salah to the bench, a lot of people was saying he was being rested for this one. The fans of Arsenal would love to see him on the bench come Sunday afternoon.
Arsenals key man is undoubtedly Bukayo Saka. The youngster has positively impacted Arsenal this season and contributed massively to their dramatic improvement. Saka has 22 goal contributions so far this season in the Premier League.
