Play Off Semi Final
Barnsley booked their spot in the Sky Bet League One play-off final after beating Bolton 2-1 on aggregate.
After a close game in Bolton, the game ended in 1-1 draw in the first leg at the University of Bolton Stadium. In the second leg, Liam Kitching went on to score the only goal of the game at Oakwell on Friday night to seal the Tykes’ passage to Wembley.
Sheffield Wednesday earned their spot at Wembley after making a history-making comeback against Peterborough. Against all odds Sheffield Wednesday managed to fire four past Peterborough and take it to extra time. The Posh went in front in extra time after an own goal from Lee Gregory. Callum Paterson went on to produce a tidy finish to take the game to penalties. Wednesday caused heartbreak for Peterborough after beating them 5-3 on penalties.
The two sides have met twice in the league this season. The first meeting between the two took place at Hillsborough and Michael Duff’s team got a 0-2 victory.
