Many teams are still battling to remain in the Championship and survive the drop into League One and on the other side of the coin, many clubs are battling it out for the play-off places. The title race is almost over after Burnley confirmed their return to the Premier League last Friday. At the time of writing Sheffield United are sitting five points clear of Luton in third.
Race for the title
Currently, Burnley and Sheffield United are well clear of third place, Luton. Burnley have now confirmed promotion to the Premier League, after beating Middlesborough on Good Friday.
The Clarets are currently sitting fourteen points clear of Sheffield United, with every game taking them closer to winning the title under the reign of Vincent Kompany.
Sheffield United, who sit in second place, are currently five points clear of Luton and eight points clear of Middlesbrough, who have dropped points in their three previous matches.

Race for play-offs
There are teams still battling it out for the play-off places. Currently, there looks like there are only two places up for grabs after Middlesborough and Luton are sitting well clear in third and fourth places respectively. The two teams who sit in fifth and sixth are Millwall and Blackburn, but Blackburn’s form, in the previous games, has opened up the opportunity for Preston and Norwich to pounce and they will be hoping to sneak into the play-off spots come the end of the season. Blackburn, Millwall and Preston are currently sitting on sixty-two points, but Preston remain just out of the play-off spots on goal difference.
Sheffield United 1/50
West Brom 22/1
There are still plenty of sides battling it out at the bottom end of the Championship for survival to maintain their Championship status for next season. These teams include Wigan and Blackpool who are seven and eight points away from safety respectively. Both teams need to win most of their remaining games to give them a chance of still playing Championship football next season. The other relegation place includes Reading, who have recently received a six points deduction which has put them on the fringe of the trap door to League One. If they maintain their Championship status, it could drag the likes of Cardiff or QPR into the relegation places. Huddersfield Town were sat in the relegation places but have recently picked up some form and they have got ten points out of a possible twelve, which has been vital for them to get out of the relegation places. QPR are also battling to retain their Championship status and are currently in an horrendous run of form.
