First Leg At The Etihad
Last Tuesday, we saw Bayern Munich get annihilated by Pep Guardiola’s side, with Erling Haaland getting on the scoresheet once again. Manchester City took the lead in just twenty-seven minutes, thanks to Rodri scoring a 20-yard screamer.
Bayern Munich had a handful of chances in the first half but struggled to beat Ederson in goal. In the 70th minute, the English side made it 2-0 with Bernardo Silva scoring a header to beat Sommer in goal. Shortly after, Erling Haaland emphatically made it 3-0 to Manchester City.
After the game, Bayern Munich suspended Sadio Mané after he punched Leroy Sané in the face after the defeat. Mane was subsequently left out of their next league game at the weekend against Hoffenheim and also had to pay a hefty fine for his actions.
Manchester City’s form
Manchester City have picked up immense form in the league and are currently nine games unbeaten.
The Blues will be looking to carry on this unbeaten run as they seek to win another Premier League title. In their previous Premier League game against Leicester, Manchester City won 3-1, where we saw Haaland score a brace to take his goal tally to thirty-two this season.
In all competitions, Manchester City have scored twenty-seven goals in their last six games. The City fans will be hoping this is the year that they finally land the Champions League title.

Bayern Munich’s form
In the Bundesliga this season, Bayern Munich are now sitting top of the league and are currently two points ahead of Borussia Dortmund who are in second.
Bayern Munich have a huge task ahead but will be looking to win against Manchester City and turn this tie around at the Allianz Arena.
In Bayern Munich’s last five Bundesliga games, they have won three, drawn one and lost one which was against sixth-place Bayern Leverkusen.
Key player
Manchester City’s Jack Grealish has really picked up form since the 2022 World Cup. This season Grealish has eleven goal contributions, scoring five and assisting six.
The Englishman will be looking to add more goals to his game and will be looking to help his team get over the line at the Allianz Arena.
In Grealish’s first season at City, it took him time to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s play style. This season we have seen a drastic change in his performances.
Newcastle's form under Eddie Howe
Since Eddie Howe arrived at the club in November 2021, Premier League fans have seen a drastic change in how Newcastle play. Eddie Howe took over when Newcastle were rock bottom of the Premier League, and he guided them to safety, finishing 11th in the league, 14 points above the relegation zone. Newcastle this season have impressed many people as no one would have expected them to be sitting in third and pushing for the Champions League places. Newcastle have won their last five Premier League games.
